Do you have classes? Conditions of Use

That question is often asked by those who visit our shop. Yes, we do!

Sassafras Moon World Gifts offers two kinds of classes. Kay Berkley, a glass artist with over 30 years of experience, teaches stained and fused glass. Sally Erickson, who creates many of the one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces for sale in the shop, will teach you how to make your own unique jewelry.

Classes are usually held in late spring and throughout the summer. We prefer to keep the size between 7-10 students so that we may give more personalized attention. They fill up fast!

Pre-registration is greatly appreciated. Please contact us to sign up.

Classes Offered

Beginning Stained Glass
While making you own creation, you will learn selection and cutting of glass, use of hand tools, grinders, and saws to join individual pieces with copper foil and solder. Each student creates a panel approximately 8 x 10 inches of their choosing. Class fees include tools, glass and materials. $100

Beginning Fused And Slumped Glass
Students will learn about glass compatibility by fusing two or more layers of glass together. Techniques of firing and cooling glass to maintain glass strength and durability, and slumping glass on molds, will also be covered. Class fees include tools, glass and materials. $100

Basic Jewelry Making
Basic design principles and experimentation with color, texture and size will be combined with learning to use basic tools to create jewelry such as earrings, bracelets and necklaces. Class fees include tools, beads, findings and instruction booklet. $75
